Open to women with complex mental health needs, and related issues such as self-harm and eating disorders, we offer a number of specialised services and settings including forensic secure services, DBT and intensive care, encouraging in-patients to engage with their own care pathway.
We are currently recruiting for a Head of Psychology, to lead the Psychology department and deliver high quality psychological assessments and treatments within our services and support business development with the Hospital Senior Management team to promote our services across the UK.
Reporting to the Hospital Manager, the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring adequate clinical psychological provision across the hospital. To deliver a recovery based framework of care to complex services users at varying stages of the care pathway. To take a proactive approach in service development and to manage a small psychology department
The successful candidate will be expected to ensure all services are using appropriate recovery based outcome measures and taking a lead in driving the outcome plan forward and work with the members of the senior management team providing training where required to achieve this. The post holder will be in a position of leadership and will be expected to innovate, influence service plans and drive forward the psychological agenda to achieve and sustain a high quality service.
To ensure that all Psychological models of care used are evidence based and are recommended within NICE guidelines and contemporary developments.
Essential qualities and attributes include:
- Experience as a principle psychologist or NHS band 8B
- Demonstrable skills in clinical leadership, managerial work and supervision
- In-depth knowledge of Recovery and experience of working with a Recovery Approach in hospital settings.
- Experience in service design, implementation and evaluation
- Experience of working with models of care for service users with complex needs and personality issues.
