Here at Woking, our adolescent intensive care unit accepts admissions from all over the UK with a view to discharging service users back to their local area as soon as they are ready. We provide support every step of the way, supported by a dedicated, multidisciplinary team, including a unique education programme to ensure their studies are as uninterrupted as possible. The hospital is also home to low secure facilities for men and women, with a whole range of therapies and services on offer to treat service users with mental health issues and related problems such as self-harm, substance misuse, anger and behaviour management.

We require an experienced CAMHS nurse to care and support young people aged between 12 and 18. You’ll be confident in assessing a variety of acute and complex mental health issues as well as planning and implementing treatment. You’ll be familiar with multi-agency working and have a clear understanding of the importance of family involvement. We are looking for a highly skilled communicator who can relate to children and involves them in all aspects of their care. You’ll have worked in a least-restrictive environment. We support young people with a range of mental health issues including:

  • Psychosis
  • Self-harm and /or suicidal
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Emerging personality disorder
  • Eating disorder
  • Substance misuse (requires primary diagnosis of a mental health problem)
  • Emotional / social and behavioural difficulties
  • Borderline / mild learning disability as a secondary diagnosis
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
