Are you dedicated, driven and keen to expand your nursing career? Cygnet Healthcare has an exciting opportunity for an experienced passionate and driven nurse to undertake the role of CAMHS innovation nurse.

Here at Woking, our adolescent intensive care unit accepts admissions from all over the UK with a view to discharging service users back to their local area as soon as they are ready. We provide support every step of the way, supported by a dedicated, multidisciplinary team, including a unique education programme to ensure their studies are as uninterrupted as possible. The hospital is also home to low secure facilities for men and women, with a whole range of therapies and services on offer to treat service users with mental health issues and related problems such as self-harm, substance misuse, anger and behaviour management.

We require an experienced CAMHS nurse to care and support young people aged between 12 and 18. You’ll be confident in assessing a variety of acute and complex mental health issues as well as planning and implementing treatment. You will be able to provide a strong visible clinical leadership across the CAMHS Service and ensure an effective audit system in the service that can help deliver Cygnet’s values. You’ll be familiar with multi-agency working and have a clear understanding of the importance of family involvement. You will bring expertise and experience to the CAMHS service, to support and enable continuous improvement in the patient outcome and nursing care. We are looking for a highly skilled communicator who can relate to children and involves them in all aspects of their care. You’ll have worked in a least-restrictive environment. We support young people with a range of mental health issues including:

  • Psychosis
  • Self-harm and /or suicidal
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Emerging personality disorder
  • Eating disorder
  • Substance misuse (requires primary diagnosis of a mental health problem)
  • Emotional / social and behavioural difficulties
  • Borderline / mild learning disability as a secondary diagnosis
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders
