We have a comprehensive appraisal process which gives employees the opportunity to talk to managers about their performance. Employees are actively encouraged to identify their personal training requirements, in conjunction with current and future needs of the hospital. They are documented in the Personal Development plan which is held by every member of staff and regularly updated.
“I have worked for Cygnet for 10 years, having come from the NHS. I found Cygnet to have a lot of opportunities for development right from the start. I was able to do a lot of training to develop myself, train others and manage projects.”Rosalyn, Registered Manager
We believe your career at Cygnet should start as it means to go on. Our investment in you begins with a comprehensive induction programme. This is tailored to meet your job requirements. You will also be assigned a colleague who will support and guide you through your first few weeks at your Cygnet hospital.
Cygnet Health Care focuses on providing quality care. All staff are required to fulfil a comprehensive statutory training programme. This is delivered by the company’s own internal instructors and carefully selected outsourced trainers.
Work based learning programme
There is an strong emphasis on education in our hospitals. We provide a work-based learning programme for both clinical and non-clinical employees. This is carried out through our partnership with Lifetime Training. Sector specific trainers support learners as they work to achieve Levels 2,3 and 5 qualifications.
Cygnet actively encourages career development and all our centres have a generous, continuing education budget. We offer flexibility within our rotas to allow those studying to attend day-release training events. Several nursing colleges use Cygnet’s facilities for training purposes and we have links with Open University.
